A post-conviction relief act hearing is scheduled today for a man sentenced to life in prison for Murder in the First Degree.
Court documents show 25-year-old Joshua Turner was convicted in April of 2010 of murder and aggravated assault in connection with the death of 19-month old Leonard McIntyre. State police said Turner, who was dating Leonard’s mother at the time, told them he beat the toddler after he bit his finger in the fall of 2008. A jury sentenced him to life in prison for the homicide charge along with an additional 20 years for the aggravated assault charge.
He has been serving his time in the state prison in Greene County.
