A member of the Indiana Borough Public Safety Committee is reminding people that PennDOT has control over what happens on state roads, including one in Indiana Borough where a fatal collision happened on Monday.
Borough Councilman Donald Lancaster said that the crash affected him significantly as it was the second time this year that two pedestrians were killed in the Philadelphia Street corridor and said that the investigation into the prior accident at 9th and Philadelphia Streets was about to wrap up.
He said that PennDOT did work a lot with borough officials during the investigation into the previous accident, and Lancaster hopes that officials from the state agency will be in attendance at the next Borough Council meeting.
The next full borough council meeting is November 4th at 7:00 PM at the George E. Hood Municipal Building on 8th Street. While there is no work session planned for tomorrow night, the administration and public works committees will meet at 7:00 PM.
