Preliminary hearings are scheduled for today in Indiana County’s district courts, including one for a man charged with stealing a motorcycle at gunpoint.
Court documents show 39-year-old Jacob Penrose of North Apollo is charged with robbery with the threat of immediate serious injury, robbery of a motor vehicle, theft by unlawful taking and possession of an instrument of crime for the incident on September 17th in Creekside. State troopers say Penrose held the victim at gunpoint as he rode away on a motorcycle the victim was trying to sell. The victim gave chase but eventually lost him. Police found the bike and gun, and Penrose was found two days later at a motel in Salem Township, Westmoreland County. Penrose also faces similar charges with the theft of a car in Young Township on September 18th. That car was also recovered.
Also due in court today is 37-year-old Christopher Brady for a case from August 10th. He is charged with four counts of reckless endangerment and a single count of possession of an instrument of crime. Brady also faces charges of criminal trespass and obstruction of police for an incident on August 10th at Rose Haven Personal Care Home where he was on the property 2 and a half hours before the start of his shift. He reportedly hid from troopers on the third floor in an elevator shaft. A formal arraignment hearing for this case is set for November 25th.
