Rita Armella (Troxell) Jones, 91, of Homer City, passed away on Friday, October 10th, at Beacon Ridge. She was born on August 21st, 1934, to Clair E. and Virginia (Hutcheson) Troxell in Blacklick Township.
Rita was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, where she practiced her faith throughout her life. She made many friends over the years through her employment with Indiana Sportswear, FMC, and Kmart.
Rita was an avid sports fan and followed all of the Pittsburgh teams! She loved to travel with her husband after her retirement which included several cruises and a two week stay in Italy. She also relished good food and chocolate! Known for her radiant smile and positive vibes, Rita will be greatly missed by family and friends!
She is survived by her son, Richard “Rick”, her sister-in-law, Maryanne Troxell, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard “Dick” of 57 years, and her three brothers, Regis, Clair, and Jack.
Rick would like to extend a special thanks to his cousins, Cindy (Troxell) Marcoline and Marcia (Troxell) Deptola, and friends, Brenda (Lockard) and Jim Smatlak, Sherry Renosky, and Rick and Judi (Hinson) Manis, for their continued care and support.
A heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at Beacon Ridge for their compassionate care and concern throughout Rita’s illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Lucernemines on Friday, October 24th, at 10 am by Fr. John Pavlik, followed by interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
