Andrea Faye Kershishnik, Indiana, passed away on October 21, 2025. She was born on December 13, 1975, the beloved daughter of Frank and Faye Kershishnik of Clymer.
“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given.” — J.R.R. Tolkien
Andrea lived these words with quiet grace, fierce loyalty, and an unwavering love for those around her.
A 1994 graduate of Purchase Line High School and a 1998 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Andrea earned her bachelor’s degree in English. She had a lifelong passion for books, literature, writing, and the beauty of words.
Born with a heart that faced challenges from the beginning, Andrea filled that heart with extraordinary love for her family, her friends, and the written word. Her smile could light the darkest room, her quick wit brought laughter wherever she went, and her unmistakable laugh often rose above the crowd.
Andrea is deeply missed by her parents; her sister, Bethany (Mark) Orgel of Los Angeles, California; her nephew, Carter Beck of Homer City; her niece, Kera Beck; and her great-niece, Mavis Summers of Indiana, PA.
She is also lovingly remembered by her grandmother, Pauline Cloutier of Blairsville; her uncles, David Hilty (Blairsville), Floyd (Kathy) Hilty (Black Lick), Mark (Micah) Kershishnik (Mansfield, OH), Luke (Prilla) Kershishnik (Irvine, CA), Louis Kershishnik (Penn Run), and Lawrence Kershishnik (Harrisburg, PA); her aunt and godmother, Mildred Callahan (Richmond, VA); her aunt, Laurie (John) Boyer (Hillsdale, PA); and by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who each held a special place in her life and heart.
Andrea was preceded in death by her infant twin sister, Angela; her grandparents, Fritz, and Margie Kershishnik; and her cousins, Barbara Joseph and Kelly Jo Hilty.
Though she was not blessed with children of her own, Andrea’s nurturing spirit touched the lives of many young people around her. Each one a thread in the legacy of love she leaves behind.
At Andrea’s request, there will be no public viewing. A Catholic Mass will be held at the Church of the Resurrection in Clymer at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
