In first round action in the District 6 volleyball championships last night, Homer-Center eliminated Glendale, 3-1. Emma-Lee Rouser had 13 kills, 14 digs, and 5 blocks. Maggie Voyda had 11 kills and 4 aces, and Taylor Rado had 9 kills, 7 digs, and 4 aces. Ashlyn Yount had 32 assists, Bella Tamburrino 15 digs and 13 serve-receive passes and Joss Bence, 3 aces and 20 digs. Homer-Center will take on top seed West Branch on Monday.
Two other Heritage Conference teams were in action in Class A. Conemaugh Valley beat Juniata Valley 3-1 to set up a Monday matchup against Purchase Line. Portage lost to Bishop Carroll 3-0. The Huskies will play at Northern Cambria on Monday.
The AA bracket swings into action tonight with number nine Marion Center visiting number eight Huntingdon. Fourth seed West Shamokin will welcome number thirteen Tyrone.
