For the second time, a sentencing hearing will be held for a Homer City man who pleaded guilty to Homicide by Vehicle While DUI.
Today’s hearing is for 25-year-old Reed Thomas Tantlinger pleaded guilty on May 23rd to that charge connected with a crash in January of 2023 that killed 25-year-old Hunter McCloskey on Route 422 in Pine Township. Tantlinger rear-ended McClocksey’s vehicle, pushing it into several boulders and a utility pole along the side of the road. He fled the scene but was later found at a friend’s house.
Other charges, including accident where the victim dies, two counts of DUI-controlled substance and multiple summary driving charges were not prosecuted as part of the plea bargain. His first sentencing hearing was to be held in August but it was continued.
Also due today in Indiana County’s Court of Common Pleas is 39-year-old Shannon Shaffor of Indiana. She is scheduled to be sentenced today for one charge of child endangerment where a parent or guardian commits the crime. The charge goes back to an incident in September of 2024.
