It is the final week of the regular season in high school football, and as many as three teams could end up sharing the Heritage Conference championship, but coaches now are focused on one last chance to grab District 6 playoff rankings points. We have four games on our Renda Media radio stations tonight, and three of them will be on Renda Digital TV.
On WCCS and Renda Digital TV, 6-3 Homer-Center will host 2-7 Portage.
The Mustangs will likely be missing quarterback Easton Slanoc, but Wildcats coach Greg Page says no matter who is taking snaps, Portage is dangerous.
Page says Homer-Center can’t be thinking about the playoffs.
Page says his seniors, who will be honored tonight, have been true team leaders.
Portage coach Marty Slanoc admires the way Page has led the Wildcats back from two straight disappointing seasons.
On Cat Country 106.3 FM and Renda Digital TV, 8-1 River Valley welcomes 4-5 Northern Cambria, with both teams hoping to strengthen their hold on their district 6 playoff slot.
Panthers coach Ed Dalton is wary of the speedy Colts.
NC coach Sam Shutty says River Valley is a difficult test for the Colts.
On 92.5 FM U92, 8-1 Marion Center visits 3-6 Penns Manor.
The Comets’ Carson Rhea says his team has to beat a very good Stingers team, and then hope to get some help and jump back into the Class A top eight and make the playoffs.
The Stingers’ Adam Rising says Penns Manor is always a tough matchup.
The other Heritage Conference games tonight include 3-6 Purchase Line hosting 6-3 United Valley in an important D6 game for both teams. 8-1 Cambria Heights travels to 1-8 West Shamokin. And 0-9 Conemaugh Valley will visit 5-4 Conemaugh Township.
All of the action on our Renda Media stations begins with the Indiana Total Therapy Pregame Shows at 6:30, with the exception of Homer-Center/Portage, which airs at 6:13.
