Catharine (Mitchell) McGonigle, 97, of Indiana, died Monday, October 27, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on April 4, 1927, she was the daughter of the late James Mitchell and Catharine (Cooney) Mitchell. Catharine was the wife of the late James McGonigle.
She was born in Bristol, Pa and moved to Indiana 21 years ago. Before moving to Indiana, she was a parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas, Croydon, Pa. Catharine where was a member of their senior citizens and was also a member of Bristol’s seniors and helped deliver food for Meals on Wheels.
Catharine loved bowling, golfing, and bingo. She was a sanctioned bowler. Catharine bowled at Bristol Pike Lanes and Penndel Lanes where she was bowled a 299 and was given a ring to commemorate this accomplishment. She still wore this ring every day.
She is survived by her daughter: Trase M. Kovach, of Indiana; and her grandchildren: Megan (Shawn) Marhelski, of Waynesville, OH; and Richelle (Stephen) McCabe, of Indiana; and her great-grandchildren: Isabelle, Sophia, Mason and Madden McCabe, and Lainey and James Marhelski. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Catharine was preceded in death by her brother: Fred Mitchell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the convenience of her family. Interment will take place at a later date in Bristol Cemetery, Bucks County.
