IUP’s men were picked to finish second in the PSAC West in the preseason poll released yesterday. Coach Joe Lombardi welcomes back redshirt senior Dallis Dillard after two years lost to a knee injury. Dillard is a team captain along with Damir Brooks and Anthony Watson. Double-digit scorers Christian Moore and Kymani Merraro are also back along with inside presence Tyler Grove.
Gannon got six first-place votes and is the preseason number one in the West. West Chester is the choice in the PSAC East.
Coach Craig Carey’s IUP women’s team is ranked third in the PSAC West behind Gannon and Seton Hill in the preseason poll. The Crimson Hawks return rebounding machine Ny’Shae Weaver, who averaged a double-double last year, flashy scorer Ellie Wilkerson, who hit over 31 percent from beyond the three-point line last season, another three-point sharpshooter in Marin Miller, who shot over forty percent on threes, and rugged forward Lily Jordan.
The top team in the PSAC East in the preseason poll is Lock Haven.
