Dan Muse could not have asked for a better start to his Penguins coaching career. The Pens end October in first place in the Metro Division, 8-2-2 and with 18 points, two more than the New Jersey Devils. Last night, they finished their month with a win in Minnesota, on goals by four different players.
Paul Steigerwald has the story.
Tristan Jarry made 26 saves to improve to 5-1 on the season.
18-year-old Ben Kindel played in his tenth game of the season. By rule, that activates his three-year entry-level contract and means he will likely be with the Penguins long-term rather than return to his junior team, although they could still send him there to play for the Calgary Hitmen. 19-year-old defenseman Harrison Brunicke was a healthy scratch for the fourth time in the last five games and remains eligible to return to juniors without activating his contract.
The Pens and Jets play in Winnipeg tomorrow afternoon. Because of IUP football on U92 and Pitt football on WCCS, it won’t be a radio game.
