The lineup has been announced for the next Pennsylvania Mountains Rural Health Conference, set for November 20th at IUP.
The theme for the 2025 conference is “Healthcare Innovation” and sessions are expected to address a wide range of topics connected with rural healthcare, including legislation and funding. The keynote address will be given by the President and CEO of The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania Nicole Stallings. Her topic will be “Our Communities’ Futures Depend On Strong Rural Hospitals” and will address rural health opportunities and challenges and what they mean for communities.
Also expected to be in attendance are several members of the Shapiro Administration, including Department of Human Services Secretary Dr. Valerie Arkoosh, Department of Health Secretary Dr. Debra Bogen, Secretary of Aging Jason Kavulich, and state Commissioner of Insurance Michael Humphreys. They will be on a panel for a discussion on the topic of “Implications of H.R.1 and Opportunities Under the Rural Health Transformation Plan.” This panel will be moderated by IUP proposed college of osteopathic medicine founding dean Dr. Miko Rose.
This marks the fourth year of the conference, which will be held once again at the KCAC.
