A man who pleaded guilty to stealing packages off of porches in four counties was sentenced yesterday in Indiana County Court.
Indiana County Judge Michael Clark ordered 35-year-old John Manning to one to three years in state prison and to four years of probation for a guilty plea to a charge of Organized Retail Theft. Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday said that Manning used his job as a DoorDash driver to check out potential targets. While Manning was caught with many of the items when police searched his home, investigators said that he sold a lot of the stolen goods on Facebook Marketplace. He was reportedly caught in the act by surveillance cameras or the homeowners themselves.
Sunday was quick to credit the state police and other law enforcement partners for their assistance in the case.
