There are several cases on the docket Monday for Indiana County’s Court of Common Pleas, among them is one for a police chief charged with criminal mischief for an incident on September 10th of this year.
State police said the incident happened at 12:22 PM that day at a home in the 300 block of Franklin Street. Chief Adam Lewis of the Clymer Borough Police, who was off-duty at the time, reportedly was involved in an encounter with a 26-year-old man living there and knocked a cell phone out of the man’s hand and it landed on the ground, causing some damage.
This comes just a month after he was promoted to chief to take over for Charles Waller, Jr., who resigned after allegations of simple assault, harassment and strangulation were reported for an incident in June of this year.
His trial will be held at 1:15 Monday afternoon before District Judge Susanne Steffey.
