Evelyn June Farmery, 77, of Rochester Mills, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born in Punxsutawney on January 11, 1948, a daughter of the late Merle F. Milliron and Pearl Alverda (Plyler) Milliron.
On November 4, 1972, she married William E. Farmery. They enjoyed fifty-three years of marriage and raised a loving family.
She attended Covode Methodist Church.
Mrs. Farmery worked as an elementary school teacher in the Marion Center School District and Spring Cove School District. Her love for children and teaching was not just a career-it was her calling and she poured her heart into it every single day.
She was very artistic and spent her free time creating beautiful stained glass, quilting, basket weaving, knitting, crocheting and tending to her flower gardens.
In addition to her husband, Will, she is survived by three sons, Curtis (Melanie) Farmery of Youngsville, Wyatt (Jessica) Farmery of Marion Center, and Evan (Erica) Farmery of Rochester Mills; six grandchildren, Kaleb, Audrey, Leta, Logan, Gabe and Liam Farmery; two sisters, Karen Painter of Summerville, South Carolina and Kathleen (Robert) Ishman of Stewarts Draft, Virginia.
Friends will be received from 2-6 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, officiated by Paul Davis. Following the service a luncheon will be held at Covode Methodist Church.
