BOYS BASKETBALL
United led Cambria Heights 19-5 after one quarter and 40-11 at the half as the Lions battered the Highlanders, 70-27 to remain undefeated at 4-0. Carter Payne scored 23 points and Ryan Felix 20 for United. Levi Kline scored 10 for Heights.
Homer-Center routed Penns Manor 73-54. Nash Budner scored 25 points for the Wildcats, with Louie rodman adding 15 and Joey Kosmack 11. The Comets had one player in double figures, Vinny Myers, who scored 31 points.
Conemaugh Township’s early-season run continued with a 46-29 win over Northern Cambria. Erik McClemons scored 16 to lead the Indians and Brennan Lohr had 10. Parker Shutty scored 11 and Malik Fox 10 for the Colts.
Max Persichetti scored 23 points and Bryson McDowell 17 to lead River Valley over West Shamokin, 68-48.
Marion Center sprinted to a 16-5 first quarter lead, then cruised home with a 64-19 win over Purchase Line. Kamden Rozier led the way with 18 points for the Stingers, with Hayden Fox adding 14, and Tyler Pack and Josiah Bish each with 12. Jacob Kauffman scored 8 to lead the Red Dragons.
In a three-point barrage, Conemaugh Valley topped Portage, 66-56. CV had nine threes and Portage had eight. Jaylen Henry led all scorers with 25 for the Blue Jays and Lance Masser had 18. For the Mustangs, Llehson Walker had 20.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Indiana High is off to a fast start, undefeated at 6-0 after last night’s win over McKeesport. Pat Dougherty has the recap.

HOCKEY
Indiana had a 2-1 lead after one period but Blackhawk scored the next three goals on the way to a 5-3 win. Tyler Yount scored a couple of power play goals for Indiana in the first period. Matt Stone and Sam Frich assisted on the first goal and Michael Dubetsky had an assist on the second one. Spencer Hillsberry scored an even-strength goal, unassisted, in the third.
RIFLE
Indiana Rifle lost to McGuffey in a virtual match, 790-37x to 788-43x. Top shooters for Indiana were Gavin Dicken with a 100-8x, and Hunter Williams, Laken Smith, and Sarah Genchur, all with a 100-6x.
