Kris Letang celebrated a milestone game in the best way for the Penguins…by scoring the game-winning goal. Paul Steigerwald has the story.
Coach Dan Muse says the Penguins’ penalty kill units were on the ice a lot, and that cost the rest of the team valuable playing time.
Muse says Letang earns his accolades every single day.
Letang credited his wife and children, and the Penguins organization, for his longevity.
Letang says the Penguins played controlled hockey, especially when they had so much time on the PK.
It was a night of milestones. In addition to Letang playing his 1,200th career game, all as a Penguin, defenseman Erik Karlsson collected his 900th career point when he assisted on Lizotte’s goal.
The Penguins and Red Wings play tomorrow afternoon in Detroit, facing off at noon. Because of IUP basketball on U92, it will not be a radio game.
