Congressman Glenn “GT” Thompson has officially announced the start of his re-election campaign.
He currently serves in the U.S. House as the representative of Pennsylvania’s 15th congressional district. In his announcement, Thompson said that serving in the U.S. House has been “the honor of a lifetime and every challenge along the way has been met with great optimism.” He touted his accomplishments, including being the first Chairman on the House Committee on Agriculture from Pennsylvania in over 150 years, and also touched on his work in support of veterans, career and technical education, and rural economic development.
While Thompson will seek the Republican nomination, Ray Bilger of Bellefonte announced his intent to run for the Democrat nomination. He says he will focus on affordability, safety and creating opportunities for the next generation. Bilger has served the U.S. Military for 35 years in the Air Force, National Security Agency and the State Department.
