A man charged with aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI is due in court today for a motions hearing.
A motion for leave to employ an alternative toxicologist will be discussed today for the hearing for Logan Paul Penrose of Robinson. He is charged in connection with the crash that killed Allen Fisher, Jr. of Bolivar on June 27th. State Police were sent out to the area of Forsythe Road and Route 259 where a pickup truck collided with an SUV. Troopers said that Penrose had crossed the center line and collided with Fisher’s SUV. Fisher was killed while another person was hurt. Police said that several beer cans were found in the vehicle and a blood alcohol test showed that Penrose was above the legal intoxication limit. After today’s hearing, a criminal call hearing is set for March 6th.
Indiana County’s Court of Common Pleas will also have a hearing today for a Pittsburgh man charged with drug delivery resulting in death, involuntary manslaughter and possession with intent to deliver.
Indiana Borough Police filed the charges against 40-year-old Victor Marcinik in connection with the drug overdose death of an un-named 43-year-old man. Officers were sent to a home in the 1000 block of Church Street in August of last year for a report of a cardiac incident. Police believe the heart attack was triggered by drugs that Marcinik provided.
President Judge Thomas Bianco will consider motions to quash information and to dismiss the charges.
