Margaret “Peggy” Anna (Korich) Barnhouse, 83, of Indiana, PA (formerly of Blairsville) passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026, in St. Andrew’s Village, Indiana, PA.
The daughter of George and Rose C. (Thompson) Korich, she was born February 8, 1943, in Burrell Twp., Indiana County, PA.
Peggy was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church, Indiana, PA.
She graduated from Blairsville High School, Class of 1961. She worked as a dietary aide at IRMC until her retirement in 2010.
In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting and crocheting, and she lovingly passed on those skills to her family. More than anything, Peggy loved spending time with family and friends, and she especially loved going to casinos.
She is survived by her son, Ralph Christopher Platt of Bremerton, WA; stepson, Ronald Barnhouse (Jacqueline) of Greensburg; grandchildren, Kurtis Platt, Konnor Platt, Ashley Provance-Turek, and Jake Barnhouse; four great-grandchildren; and cousin, Tim Pittman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ralph Platt; second husband, Leslie Barnhouse; and brother, George Korich.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 4-7 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 11 AM with Pastor Troy Fritz officiating.
Interment will be in the SS Simon and Jude Cemetery, Blairsville.
