As the weather warms up and becomes more pleasant, first responders are headed out for brush fire calls.
Four such calls were reported on Monday afternoon, with the first call reported at 12:38 PM on Pine Hollow Road in Washington Township. Creekside and Plumville fire departments were sent out at the time. The second was at 2:16 PM on Tipperary Road in Pine Township. Pine Township and Nicktown Fire Departments went to the scene. At 4:41 PM, the third brush fire call was reported by Indiana County 911 on Batch Plant Road in Burrell Township that brought out Black Lick, Blairsville and Coral-Graceton fire departments. Finally, Homer City fire fighters were sent to Route 56 East in Center Township for the four brush fire call at 4:59 PM.
Details on the fires have not been released. There have now been ten brush fires reported since the start of the year.
