SOFTBALL
West Shamokin plated 10 runs in the first inning and five in the second, and Leah Mondi threw a three-inning one-hitter, striking out six as the Wolves clobbered Apollo-Ridge, 15-0. Freshman Abbi Kimmel and Lainey Gourley both had two hits and each doubled, while West Shamokin took advantage of six Vikings errors.
BASEBALL
West Shamokin fell behind Cambria Heights 5-1 but rallied to score 8 runs in the fourth inning and four more in the fifth to beat the Highlanders, 14-5. Ben McConnell had two hits and drove in three runs for the Wolves, and Luke McCullough had two hits and drove in two, and both of them doubled in a 13-hit West Shamokin attack. Bryce Lewis had two hits, including a double, and drove in two for Heights.
