Richard Mark Ashford, 61, of Trafford, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
A son of Joseph A. and Rebecca E. (Hranitz) Ashford, he was born Aug. 18, 1964, in Wilkinsburg.
Richard had been a union carpenter with Max Enterprise. He enjoyed curling bowling and lawn bowling. Richard loved history, you could easily call him a history buff. He also loved traveling.
He is survived by his father, Joseph A. Ashford, of Trafford; his fiancée, Carole Vranko, of Trafford; an uncle, Russell “Skip” Baker, of Export; and a cousin, Rebecca Jo Baker.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca E. Ashford.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th Street, Indiana. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Ss Cyril & Methodius Orthodox Church, 520 Scott Street, Jeannette, PA 15644, with Fr. Michael Senyo as celebrant. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.
