White Township Supervisors are holding a special meeting tonight concerning the junk vehicle ordinance.
The new regulation would set a definition for junked, nuisance, or abandoned vehicles, as well as rules for where they can and cannot be stored on someone’s property. The ordinance was first brought up for approval for advertisement in February, but many have spoken out against it since then. The main concerns about how the ordinance would interact with private property rights and using cars that would be considered “junked” for work-related purposes on their property. This prompted supervisors to hold a special session to work on the ordinance.
The special meeting starts at 7:00 PM tonight at the Township Offices.
