At their meeting Monday evening, the Center Township supervisors approved purchasing a new snowplow.
The 2026 Peterbilt model 548 will come equipped with a salt spreader to assist with clearing roadways in the winter months. The cost of the truck is about $210,000. Supervisors Chairman Matt Householder said that the rest of the trucks on the fleet were getting old, so it was time for a replacement.
The supervisors also offered reports on the ongoing process of updating ordinances, as well as how they are working through ordinances concerning the new Homer City Redevelopment project. Householder said it’s difficult since this is something new to everyone, and the lack of zoning complicates things further.
The supervisors also received bids for fuel and piping, which will be reviewed for the next meeting.
