The Shapiro administration is highlighting another step in its effort to modernize state government workplaces, unveiling a renovated Office of State Inspector General workspace at Forum Place in Harrisburg.
The project is part of the Department of General Services’ Space Optimization and Utilization Project, or SOUP, a broader initiative aimed at reducing unused office space, improving efficiency, and updating state facilities as more employees return to in-person work.
Officials say the long-term effort is expected to save the Commonwealth more than $180 million in lease costs by 2033 by right-sizing office footprints across state agencies.
