Carol Jean (Kissock) Ferguson peacefully departed this earth for her heavenly home on May 15, 2026 at age 86.
Carol was born on January 23, 1940 in Pittsburgh, PA to John and Mary (Salansky) Kissock. Her family moved to Black Lick, PA during her grammar school years. She graduated from Blairsville High School in 1957 and earned her secretarial certificate from Robert Morris School of Business in 1959. She married her BHS classmate, James Long Ferguson on April 23, 1960, recently celebrating their 66th wedding anniversary.
Carol was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ her whole life. She attended and served Blairsville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church for many years as well as other churches wherever she lived. God blessed her with many gifts and talents in the home, church, and workplace.
She enjoyed her job and the friends she made as the elementary school secretary at Third Ward and the new Blairsville Elementary School, from which she retired in 2002. In 2004, Jim and Carol moved to Leesburg, Florida and enjoyed the sunshine state for 16 years. In 2020, they moved back to Western Pennsylvania to be near family, first living in Latrobe, PA and then more recently in Chippewa Twp, PA.
She was the most dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Jim, and their four children, Nancy Notaro of Ocean City, NJ, Todd Ferguson (Patricia) of Blairsville, PA, Brian Ferguson of Blairsville, PA, and Jan Kindle (Christopher) of Ambridge, PA. Carol has three grandchildren, Steven Ferguson, Hannah Ferguson, and Sophia Kindle, and three great grandchildren. As well as her younger brothers, Jack McKissock (Graal) of Florida and Jim Kissock (Karen) of Blairsville, PA and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home & Monument Company, 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 on Monday, May 18, 2026 from 3-6 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 1:00 PM with her son-in-law, Chris Kindle officiating. Interment will be held in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
