Patricia Ann May passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Arbor Terrace Senior Living Community, Exton, PA, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Boston, MA on April 4, 1934, the daughter of Edward Vincent Mary Patricia Cormier.
She attended school in Boston, graduating from Nazareth Girls High School in 1952. Pat worked for the gas company until she discovered her passion for traveling as a stewardess for Eastern Airlines. It was only meeting the love of her life for more than 65 years, Bernard F. R. May, at a Christmas dance in 1958 followed by their engagement on Valentine’s Day 1959 that prompted her to pursue her other life ‘s passion as a wife and mother to her husband and their five children.
Pat spent all her 65 years, less three years the family relocated and lived in Mexico City, married to Bernie and raising her five children in Indiana, PA. During those years, Pat worked part-time as a teacher’s aide for Arin Intermediate Unit, a medical receptionist, and an administrative assistant in the nursing department at IUP. During that time, she also volunteered for VNA Hospice, Indiana Hospital Children’s Dental Clinic, Birthright, Indiana Hospital Auxiliary, Welcome Wagon, and at the Jimmy Stewart Museum.
Pat was a devoted, wonderful and caring mother and wife. She had many interests and hobbies which included gourmet cooking, sewing, gardening, birdwatching, reading, golf and travel. All her children were inspired by her and share many of the same hobbies she loved.
Pat was preceded in death, by her beloved husband, Bernard F. R. May and son, Martin E. May.
She is survived by her loving children, Patti (Terry) Connolly, Bernie (Riza) May, Maureen May, (daughter in-law), Andrea (Dan) Spencer, Terry (Sara) May. Pat also is survived by her sister Barbara Place. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren: Kelly, Nikki, Lauren, Erica, Zach, Brendan, Miles, Ella, Skylar and Jonathan, and numerous nieces and nephews who loved hearing Aunt Pat’s New England accent, which she carried with her throughout her 92 years.
Pat’s family would like to thank the caring and warm staff at Arbor Terrace and Holisticare Hospice for their incredible care and support.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-7:30 pm at Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory, Indiana, PA. A mass and Christian burial will be Celebrated on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 9:30 am at St. Thomas More University Parish.
