A garage was destroyed in a fire yesterday morning in Banks Township.
Indiana County 911 sent out Glenn Campbell, Rossiter, Cherry Tree, Commodore, Big Run, Punxsy Central and Hope fire departments at 11:03 AM to the garage on Fire Tower Road along with Punxsutawney EMS. The fire was caused by a reported explosion according to initial scanner reports. The garage was fully involved by the time crews first arrived. The Community and Elk Run fire departments were called in for standby detail.
Indiana fire crews were busy this morning with an automatic fire alarm activation on Oak Street in Indiana Borough. Indiana County 911 said that call went out at 3:21 this morning.
First responders were also called out at 6:47 this morning for a two-vehicle crash this morning in Blacklick Township. Blacklick, Blairsville and Aultman fire departments were sent out to Coal Road for the incident. Initial scanner reports that Blairsville and Aultman fire companies were cancelled en route, but one of the vehicles involved went down an embankment and into a creek. The drivers involved were able to get out on their own.
