Frances (Stephens) Trusal, 91, of Indiana passed away Tuesday May 26, 2026, surrounded by her family.
She was born Dec. 8, 1934, in Penn Run. She is the daughter of Wilbur and Ethel (Buterbaugh) Stephens.
Frances graduated from Pine Township High School and attended the Indiana Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1955 as a registered nurse (RN). She worked in various departments at Indiana Hospital, as well as a period of years at what is now St. Andrew’s Village. She retired as an oncology nurse with IRMC. She was a member of Graystone Presbyterian Church and in later years Calvary Presbyterian Church, serving as an Elder in both congregations. She was a devoted member of the Presbyterian Women, serving as Moderator at the state and regional level. She loved to travel with her husband Wally and extended family. As avid campers, their trailer logged many miles through State and National Parks. Many Trusal grandchildren fondly remember their turn to camp with their grandparents.
She is survived by brothers: William Stephens and Dennis Stephens; daughters: Pamela Trusal Kemper (Chris); Jill Trusal Juengel (Mark); sons: Bradley Trusal (Brigette) and Thomas Trusal (Noel); grandchildren: Christopher Juengel, Kelly Juengel Doppelheuer (Jason), Eric Juengel (Emily), John Kemper (Juli), Lauren Kemper (Jackson), Megan Trusal Carlise (Mike), Lindsey Trusal Easler (James), Emily Trusal, Lincoln Trusal, Regan Trusal; great grandchildren: Tori and Teagan Doppelheuer and Maeve and Jude Juengel.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace; parents, Wilbur and Ethel Stephens; and brother, Dwight Stephens.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N. 7th St., Indiana. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 695 School Street, Indiana, with the Rev. Mark L. Juengel officiating. Interment will take place in Oakland Cemetery.
