Indiana County’s two remaining baseball teams in the PIAA playoffs both won in dominant fashion last night.
For the fourth straight year, Indiana advances to the Quad-A quarterfinals, and they did so using a perfect combination of pitching, hitting, and defense. Pat Dougherty recaps their win over Somerset.
Indiana and Hopewell have not played each other this season. The Indians are 19-4 and the Vikings are 18-6. Hopewell lost in the WPIAL semifinals to Elizabeth Forward, 4-3. Indiana then beat Elizabeth Forward, 4-0 to win the WPIAL championship for the second straight year.
