Shirley May (Brown) Yeager, 80, of Indiana passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at her residence in Indiana, surrounded by family.
The daughter of Paul and Esther Catherine (Deabenderfer) Brown, she was born Nov. 6, 1945, in Indiana.
Shirley was a Teacher of the United Jr/High School District for 35 years in Armagh.
She was a farmer’s daughter who loved growing things. She enjoyed going to the library every week. Shirley loved teaching. She is remembered as being a “Teacher at Heart”. Shirley liked knitting and crocheting. Shirley enjoyed camping and spending time with her family. Shirley and her husband, Rusty, would travel all over the country delivering Corvettes.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James D. Yeager, “Rusty”, and her son, Andy P. Yeager (Stephanie); five grandchildren; Chyenne Yeager (Jonathan) Barr, Bryanna Yeager, (Tyler) Bouch, Michael Rigby, Zoey Yeager-Rigby, and Troy Harkleroad (Aylanna); and three great grandchildren: Lorelai Bouch, Finley Bouch, and Claralynn Harkleroad.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-Law, Daniel W. (Mary) Brown.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Robinson-Lytle Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th Street, Indiana, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 p.m., with Fr. Jonathan Ulrick officiating.
