Alice Jane “AJ” (Novak) Frattura, of Blairsville, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
The daughter of Vincent R. and Mary V. (Ficek) Novak, she was born on April 7, 1940, in Blairsville, PA.
AJ was a devoted member of SS. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Blairsville and was also a member of the Historical Society of the Blairsville Area, reflecting her deep love for her faith, her community, and the place she called home.
A proud graduate of Blairsville High School, Class of 1958, AJ carried with her a lifelong connection to her hometown and the many friendships she made throughout the years.
For more than 30 years, AJ worked at Chestnut Ridge Resort, where her dedication, friendly spirit, and steady presence were appreciated by many.
AJ found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. She enjoyed going to concerts and cooking, but she especially loved making candy and creating stained glass pieces for her family. These thoughtful gifts, made with her own hands, will remain treasured reminders of her creativity, generosity, and love.
AJ will be lovingly remembered by her son, Richard A. Frattura, Jr. of Monroeville; her daughter, Cheryl Rebovich of Blairsville; her grandson, Michael Justin Rebovich and his wife, Samantha, of Apollo; sister-in-law, Patti Lance-Stasio of Blairsville, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends near and far who have impacted her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Richard A. Frattura, Sr., in 1968; and her brother, Robert Novak.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville where a Wake service will be held at 7:30 PM. Prayers of Transfer will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, June 16th at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral Mass at 10 AM at SS. Simon and Jude Catholic Church with Fr. Joe Pham, celebrant.
