Two people were hurt in a crash this morning in Burrell Township.
Blairsville, Blacklick and Aultman firefighters were called out at 6:30 this morning to Newport Road about three miles from the intersection of Route 217. Blairsville fire officials said that a vehicle veered off the road and went into a wooded area. Two women were in the vehicle. One person had to be extricated and she was flown to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for treatment of unknown injuries. The other victim was taken by ambulance to IRMC for treatment. Coral-Graceton firefighters were sent out to assist at the landing site.
Crews were on the scene for about three hours. State police from the Indiana and Kiski Barracks teamed up to investigate the crash. Further details have not been released.
