PennDOT is warning drivers of two wide loads being transported today from Mercer County to Indiana County.
The loads are carrying two sections of Donna’s Diner, which will be installed tomorrow in the 500 block of Philadelphia Street in Indiana. Each section is 105 feet long, 14 feet wide, 15 feet tall and weighs 145,000 pounds. Today, The diner will travel through portions of Mercer, Laurence, Butler and Clarion counties before going through Brookville on Route 36 and around Punxsutawney on Route 436 before going onto 119 into Indiana County, then onto Route 110. Tomorrow, the diner will come down Philadelphia Street to be installed near the intersection of 5th street.
On the way down, the convoy will drive at a minimum of 40 miles an hour or whatever the speed limit is. Tomorrow, Philadelphia Street from fourth to sixth streets will be closed to install the diner. Drivers will use Water and School Streets for detours around the scene. The sidewalk will also be closed along Philadelphia Streets between South Coulter and South Taylor Avenues.
No word yet on when the diner will make its way into Indiana County today.
