Barbara Jean (Makin) Drahnak, more lovingly known as Grammy-Great by her 2 Great Granddaughters, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family June 29, 2026.
Born April 23, 1938, in Penn Run, PA to Albert and Marian (Frick) Makin. She was a 1956 graduate of Penns Manor School District where she met her high school sweetheart Thomas Drahnak. They were married on August 29, 1959, in Indiana, PA.
She worked for 36 years at McCreary Tire, now known as Specialty Tires, as a Sales Rep. Besides working a full-time job, she was an excellent housekeeper and cook. After retirement she took on a full-time summer job watching her grandchildren. For 20 years she spent the winter months in Lakeland, Florida where she spent her time going to flea markets and playing Bingo. She was a member of Harmony United Presbyterian Church for 71 years. Her family was the pride and joy of her life, and she always made sure they knew how much she loved them. She never met a person she didn’t like and couldn’t talk to. She was a woman of strong faith and devotion to God.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years Thomas Drahnak. Two children, son Craig Drahnak (Cindy) along with daughter Christy Sink (James). 4 grandchildren Katelyn Pearce (Ryan), Suzanne Simon (Nathan), Mallory Hoak (Jesse), and Tanner Sink (Elizabeth). As well as 2 great grandchildren, Audrey and Avery Pearce, who she told everyone were the apples of her eye.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a very special Aunt Ethell and Uncle Alex.
Friends will be received on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the McCabe~Roof Funeral Home, 565 Franklin St. Clymer. Her funeral service will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 am at the Harmony United Presbyterian Church, Penn Run. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s cemetery, Cameron’s Bottom.
