Patrick Ward McElhoes, 76 of Blairsville, PA, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at his home. He was born October 2, 1949 in Indiana, PA, the son of the late Raymond McElhoes and Esther (Mock) McElhoes. Pat was a Blairsville High School Class of 1967 graduate. He then enlisted in the US Army and served during the Vietnam war. Pat worked for Helen Mining Company for many years. He was a member of the Masonic Acacia Lodge #355 of Blairsville where he was a former Past Master. Pat was an excellent public speaker for the many masonic services he conducted. Pat enjoyed his life with his wife and best friend, Patty. He also enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels, taking care of his cat and he took much pride in his yardwork around the house.
He is survived by his brother, John “Jack” McElhoes, Bradenville, PA; many nieces, nephews and in-laws and also his cat, Grump. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia M. McElhoes who died July 6, 2026; brothers, Clark Dennis McElhoes & George R. McElhoes and his sister-in-law, Margaret “Peggy” McElhoes.
The family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home & Monument Company, 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 on Monday, August 31, 2026 from 2-5 PM. A funeral service will be held at 5 PM with Pastor Tina Barkley officiating. Interment will be held in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Blairsville, Pennsylvania.
