Indiana Area High School was treated for an isolated case of bedbugs on Tuesday.
According to Superintendent Rob Heinrich, three bugs were found on two students Tuesday morining. Those bugs were sent to be identified, and it was confirmed Tuesday that they were indeed bedbugs.
Staff then traced the movements of those two individuals to a number of classrooms, as well as the auditorium and nurses office. Those areas were treated Tuesday afternoon by Environmental Pest Control.
Heinrich stresses that there is no outbreak or infestation, only an isolated incident.
He says that because of how small the case was, and how quickly it was discovered, they had little time to inform the public before action was taken.
A letter to the public was released Wednesday afternoon.
