James W. O’Donnell, III, 62 of Blairsville, PA, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026 at his home. He was born August 10, 1964 in Pittsburgh, PA. Jim was a member of the Shannon Creek Baptist Church, New Florence, PA. He was a teacher in the Kiski School District and worked security at Torrance State Hospital after his retirement. James was also a US Marine veteran. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his garden, making YouTube videos for his channel, playing volleyball and running a youth volleyball club.
He is survived by his mother, Joann (Kapera) O’Donnell, Export, PA; wife of 36 years, Sherri (Boston) O’Donnell, Blairsville, PA; son, James W. O’Donnell, IV, Cumberland, MD; son, Michael O’Donnell, Blairsville, PA; daughter, Catherine O’Donnell, New Brighton, PA; son, Paul O’Donnell, Blairsville, PA; sister, Mary Ulisse & husband, Dave, Greensburg, PA; brother, John O’Donnell & wife, Mary, Export, PA; several nieces & nephews and his cousins, Brenda Frye & Sonya Sauter. He was preceded in death by his father, James W. O’Donnell, Jr.
The family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home & Monument Company, 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Ferguson Funeral Home & Monument Company on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Rodger Roadman officiating. Interment will be held in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, Pennsylvania.
