It will be a busy day for Indiana County’s District Court, with several hearings on the docket. Two hearings will be for a man on charges of prohibited possession of a firearm in one case and false imprisonment in another.
Court documents show 42-year-old Joseph Wissinger was arrested on August 25th at his home in Center Township. He was wanted on two warrants: One was issued for charges of simple assault, false imprisonment and harassment after a domestic incident at a home in Burrell Township on August 16th. The second was related to charges filed on August 19th on weapons possession violations. In that incident, Wissinger was found to have been in possession of a rifle, an altered shotgun, a handgun and various ammunition which was seized from a parked an unattended vehicle the day before.
For the weapons incident, bail was set at $100,000, while a $25,000 bail was set for the other case.
Also due for a preliminary hearing is 46-year-old Louis Bonasorte of Pittsburgh. He was charged with accidents involving death or personal injury, failure to give information or render aid and failure to notify police for an incident on August 9th, when 45-year-old Salvatore Lauria fell out of the passenger side window of a pickup truck and suffered a serious injury in Banks Township. Bonasorte reportedly fled the scene but was picked up by police later on in a DUI stop.
