Terry L. Horner, 81 of Brush Valley was called home on September 14, 2026, after a 6 1/2-year battle with prostate cancer.
He was the son of Eugene and Dorothy (Roddy) Horner, born December 14, 1944, in Ligonier, PA.
Terry graduated from Ligonier H. S. class of 1962, served in the United States Air Force (1963-1967), and attained a B.A. degree in Economics from UPJ in 1974. He was married to Barbara (Degano) Horner for 56 years. They were blessed with a daughter, Michelle Johnson, and one BEAUTIFUL granddaughter, Lena Johnson of Moscow, OH.
He worked at Helen Mining Co. (1975-1987), retired from Latrobe Steel (1988-2007) then drove for Diamond Drugs. Terry loved his church family, Calvary Evangelical of Brush Valley, his Lord, hunting gardening, attending auctions, gun bashes, watching the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers, Hockey games and playing poker with Rick and Glenn all the while entertaining with his quick wit making those around him laugh.
Terry is survived by his siblings, Trace Horner, Nikki (Rich) Piantine, David Horner, and Debi (Frank) Airgood, a brother-in-law, Joe Degano and his wife Carol, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Tom, sister-in-laws, Elaine, Lugene, and Effie.
The family expresses deep appreciation to Dr. Ramineni, Antoinette Furman-Steinbring, staff, and nurses, especially Lindsey, at the Indiana Hillman Cancer Center, ANEW Home Health Agency and 365 Hospice for exceptional care and compassion.
