The Penguins made a bunch of roster moves yesterday, including waiving goaltender Taylor Gauthier for the purpose of assigning him to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. If no other team claims him by 2 PM today, that transaction can go through.
Also yesterday, the Pens loaned training camp sensation Tomas Galvas to his EHL team in his native Czechia. The slick, puck-handling defenseman was their second round draft pick this year.
Six other defensemen were sent to Wilkes, including David Breazeale, Tyler Duke, Brent Johnson, Ryan Mast, Maleek McGowan and Broten Sabo. Forward Carter Sanderson was assigned to his junior team, Calgary of the Western Hockey League.
The lineup for tonight’s third preseason game, in Columbus, was posted yesterday. It includes top goaltending prospect Sergei Murashov and veterans Connor Dewar Elmer Soderblom, and Ilya Solovyov, along with top prospects Avery Hayes, Harrison Brunicke, Tristan Broz, Bill Zonnon, and the Ruck twins, Liam and Markus.
