The Penguins have a four-day break between games after beating Nashville, 3-2 in overtime on Saturday. Yesterday they held an optional skate in Cranberry and Justin Brazeau joined them for his first practice with his teammates since the preseason. He’s been out with a suspected right leg injury.
Sidney Crosby, Rickard Rakell, Kris Letang, Erik Karlsson did not suit up. Evgeni Malkin and Egor Chinakhov did and were full contact, after both missed Saturday’s game.
Ben Kindel, who suffered the vasovagal episode last week on the team flight home from Utah, was absent.
Coach Dan Muse says it was a relaxed day that gave the players what they needed.
After the practice, the Penguins players hosted their teammates’ children for trick or treat in the locker room.
The Pens will have the day off today. They will next play on Thursday when they welcome Utah to PPG Paints Arena. The Mammoth beat the Pens, 5-4 last Monday in Salt Lake City.
