The Penguins took yesterday off and will return to the practice ice in Cranberry today, with a game coming up Thursday against the Utah Mammoth. The most interesting question of the week will be who is available to coach Dan Muse, who has had to deal with the loss of a number of players to injury and illness.
Expect Evgeni Malkin, Egor Chinakhov, and Justin Brazeau back on the ice today, and perhaps Ben Kindel, too. Bryan Rust remains out, though and won’t return for at least another six weeks.
After the game Thursday against Utah, the Pens will travel to Montreal Saturday, then return to Pittsburgh next week to play Vegas and Boston before another West Coast road trip, with three games in California against the Kings, Ducks, and Sharks.
