The River Valley School Board will meet tonight with the formation of a new committee on the agenda.
On the proposed agenda for tonight is a motion to approve two people to join the Citizen Finance Committee. The purpose is to provide community members with an opportunity to review, understand, and provide input on the district’s financial operations, budgeting practices, long term financial planning, and responsible use of taxpayer resources. The members of the committee will not have voting privileges during school board meetings and will not be involved in personnel matters. Edward Dalton and Melanie Pantalone are up for approval to the committee.
Also on the agenda for tonight is a memorandum of agreement between the district and the River Valley Education Association regarding a temporary, one-time alteration to the agreement concerning in-service days, the hiring of head and assistant coaches for baseball, softball, and track and field, and a clinical experience five-year agreement with IUP.
The meeting is scheduled for 7:00 PM at the Saltsburg auditorium.
