Following their 5-4 loss at Montreal on Saturday, the Penguins will skate tomorrow night against the Vegas Golden Knights at PPG Paints Arena. They’ll play Boston at home on Thursday, then take off on a three-city tour of California, starting with a game against the LA Kings on Saturday.
Yesterday the Pens sent forward Rutger McGroarty to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He’d skated in two games after his recall and did not have any points.
Sidney Crosby on Saturday set the all-time NHL record for assists with one franchise, with 1,113 in a Penguins uniform. He also tied Marcell Dionne for sixth all-time in career points, with former Penguin Ron Francis 27 points ahead of him in fifth. Then come Gordie Howe, Mark Messier, Jaromir Jagr, and the all-time leading scorer, Wayne Gretzky, with 2,857.
