Polls close in 6 states as exit polls find Trump’s approval rating at 38%

The polls have closed in six U.S. states in the 2026 midterm elections that could determine the power of Congress. CBS News projects that incumbent Sen. Mark Warner will hold onto his seat in Virginia, and exit polling finds that President Trump’s approval rating is at 38% among voters.
