A man charged with arson and other crimes for an incident in mid-September is due in court today for a preliminary hearing.
Court documents show 46-year-old Casey Bush is charged with two counts each of attempted arson and possession of explosive or incendiary materials along with single counts of attempted reckless burning or exploding, risking a catastrophe, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, burglary, disorderly conduct and driving on a suspended license for the incident in Saltsburg on September 12th. On that day, police were called to a home in the 700 block of Salt Street for a disturbance involving Bush at his former home, which was believed to be vacant.
Troopers discovered that Bush fled, but left behind two overturned fuel cans, along with spilled diesel and paint along with several burnt and discarded cigarettes. He was found by Troopers in Loyalhanna Township with the same color of paint on his clothes and smelling of diesel fuel.
Bush has been free since October 23rd on $100,000 bond. The preliminary hearing will be held before District Judge Christopher Welch this morning.
