Following a tradition that many schools have adopted, the Homer-Center Basketball Boosters will be honoring one of its great teams of the past.
Prior to tomorrow night’s game vs. Penns Manor, the 1989-90 team will be honored on the 35th anniversary of what turned out to be a historic season, one of many under Head Coach George Sulkosky.
The Wildcats finished 25-6 and won the PIAA District 6 Championship, and advanced to the PIAA Class A quarterfinals before losing to Kennedy Catholic. The seniors celebrated three seasons where they boasted a 74-13 overall record.
Mark Bertig talked to the former coach who had many fond memories of that team.
Coach Sulkosky and many members of the team will be recognized at approximately 7:15 tomorrow night. The Boosters will also host many of the players tonight in the cafeteria for a special dinner with this year’s team.
You’ll be able to hear tomorrow’s game on WCCS 101.1 FM, AM 1160, and wccsradio.com.
