State police have added some details about a vehicle stolen from Los Angeles and found in Indiana Borough last week. Police say an Indiana resident had traveled to LA to purchase the car and had brought it back to Indiana. But after it was reported stolen, it was discovered that the car had a phony title and registration, and the seller had used a fake driver’s license. The investigation remains open.
Police are investigating a lost firearm. It’s believed to have gone missing last night shortly before 6 PM in the parking lot at the Rose Inn in Rayne Township. The gun is a black Smith & Wesson Shield forty-caliber semi-automatic handgun valued at $180.
A Commodore man has been charged with burglarizing a home along Allison Road in Green Township. State police say 20-year-old Joshua Shaffer is accused of stealing a blanket from the home on February 7th. The victims are a 60-year-old Glen Campbell man and a 27-year-old Clymer man. Shaffer is charged with burglary, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.
State police say an Indiana man had the window of his vehicle broken Wednesday afternoon after parking it illegally at the Giant Eagle store in White Township. The 65-year-old man had parked in the fire lane and the pedestrian crosswalk, and shopped inside the store for twenty minutes. Someone apparently walked by and hit the window. There is no video surveillance footage of the incident and there were no witnesses.
A 26-year-old Saltsburg man is charged with making terroristic threats against a 50-year-old Clarksburg woman last Tuesday. State police say the man admitted telling the victim he would “end her”. He’s not been publicly identified.
A hit-and-run driver crashed into a vehicle parked alongside Route 286 near Jacksonville Road in Black Lick Township at about 5:30 yesterday morning. The parked vehicle had its front bumper knocked off and its left headlight smashed out.
